Privacy Policy
How Sleeping Made Easy collects, uses, and protects your information.
Sleeping Made Easy · Draft prepared July 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sleeping Made Easy ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you use this website and app (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
A note on health information
Sleeping Made Easy is a wellness-coaching and education service, not a healthcare provider or health plan. We are not a HIPAA "covered entity," the Service is not a HIPAA-covered service, and the information you share with us is not protected health information under HIPAA. We still treat the wellness information you share as sensitive and handle it as described below.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to what the coaching experience needs:
- Account information. Your email address, and a display name if you provide one. Because the Service is invite-only, we also record which coach invited you.
- Self-reported wellness data. Information you choose to share about your sleep, breathing, habits, goals, and how you are doing - including check-ins, reflections, and progress you log.
- Chat and coaching logs. The messages you exchange with your coach and with the in-app AI assistant, so your coach can support you and follow up.
- Usage data. Basic activity such as when you open the app, which lessons or articles you view, and streak information, used to personalize your path and keep the Service working.
- Technical data. Standard information your device sends automatically, such as device and browser type, needed to deliver and secure the Service.
We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, government IDs, or medical records. Please do not send us more sensitive information than the coaching relationship needs.
How we use your information
- To provide the coaching experience, your daily path, and the in-app AI assistant.
- To let your coach review your progress, answer you, and follow up when something needs attention.
- To personalize lessons, practices, and recommendations.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- To send you Service-related and, where permitted, coaching-related messages (see "Email" below).
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
The in-app AI assistant
The Service includes an AI assistant. To generate responses, transcribe voice notes, and power search, your messages and related context are sent to and processed by third-party AI providers that operate the underlying models on our behalf. These providers process the content to return a response and under our agreements are not permitted to use your content to train their own models.
Please keep in mind that anything you type or say to the AI assistant is stored and may be reviewed by your coach. Avoid sharing information you would not want stored or seen by your coach.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:
- With your coach. The coach who invited you can see your messages, check-ins, and progress in order to support you.
- With service providers. Vendors that help us run the Service - for example hosting, email delivery, and the third-party AI providers described above - who may process your information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Sleeping Made Easy.
- In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
Email and your choices
We may send you account and Service messages (such as sign-in links and important notices) and, where permitted, coaching or product updates. Every non-essential email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly in line with the CAN-SPAM Act. You can also ask us to stop by emailing support@example.com. We will still send essential account and security messages you cannot opt out of while you have an account.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as you have an account and as needed to provide the Service. You can ask your coach or contact us to delete your account; after deletion, records are removed on a rolling basis, with soft-deleted records purged within [REVIEW: retention window - confirm the exact deletion timeline with the team; onboarding currently states 90 days], except where we must keep information to meet legal obligations.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights (including California)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), including the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising them. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" sale to opt out of.
To make a request, email support@example.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. [REVIEW: Confirm the minimum age and whether minors may join via a parent/guardian; align with the Terms eligibility section.]
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service and our practices evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the date on this page and, where appropriate, notify you.
